Property access
Make sure access has been agreed with the tenant and that each relevant appliance can be reached safely.
For landlords and letting agents
If you rent out a home in Fife, I can carry out the landlord gas safety check and issue the record once the required checks are complete. You may also hear this called a CP12.
What the visit covers
The check covers the relevant landlord-provided gas appliances and flues at the property. The completed record identifies what was checked, the results and any safety-related defects or action.
Useful preparation
Make sure access has been agreed with the tenant and that each relevant appliance can be reached safely.
Tell Prime which gas appliances are present and whether a boiler service is also required.
Provide the landlord or agent details that need to appear on the completed record.
Landlords should retain the records required by law and provide copies within the applicable timescales. See the official HSE guidance for full responsibilities.
Related services
A landlord safety check and a boiler service are different activities. They can be requested together where appropriate.
